The one that has very little to do with teaching.

Let me tell you the best part about this here blog.  My sweet mom read that my eyeshadow brush took a dive into the toilet and that I've been going sans eye make-up for like ever.... So guess what she shows up with today?  A new make up brush and a cupcake.  A Gigi's cupcake.  Ohmiword.  Do you have a Gigi's?!  Simply the best.  Now, I didn't want to let her in because Holy Hot Mess, Batman!  I haven't cleaned in a while and have eleventy million Sonic cups on my kitchen counter.  But a girl's gotta have her make up brushes and cupcakes.  So I told her to close her eyes and not pay attention to the fact that she was stepping on laundry...  I'm not kidding when I say I have laundry on my couch, the spare bed, and all over my bathroom and bedroom floor.  It's ridonk.

Speaking of cleaning...how many of you have someone who cleans for you?  More specifically, how many of you single ladies in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment have someone clean for you?!  Just typing that makes me feel ridiculous.  But I can't keep up.  I hit the ground running at 6am and don't stop until I get home {sometimes 16 hours later!}.  I teach, I tutor, I'm training to do ABA therapy, I have work to do for the online children's lit course I teach, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I have a family that I still babysit for two evenings a week {love them and they just keep having more kids!}.  And by the time I get home, the last thing I want to do is clean anything.  I just don't know if I'm being silly by wanting someone to do it for me.  Especially since I don't have kids or anything.  I guess I just don't think I have a legit reason.  What do you guys think?  Will you validate me?!  I know you will.

In other news...go check out the Be My Valentine Gift Exchange linky party!  Everyone made and bought such cute stuff!  If you participated in the exchange and haven't received your gift yet, shoot us an email at teacherbloggerexchange at gmail dot com.  We will get back with you as soon as we can.  I know there are several of you who emailed us and we are checking on things...we're also trying to give it a day or two in case the mail was slow!  So if you have emailed us and haven't heard back, know that we're working on it!  Head on over to the new blog to check out the linky party and make sure you follow it so you can be updated when we do our next one in April!

Alright...I'm off to do some of the cleaning and laundry I've been putting off all week.  Zero fun for me on this Wednesday night.  {Pllleeeaaaassssseeee tell me I can get a cleaning lady.}  But!  Tomorrow is the last day I have to teach this week, so it's like tonight is Thursday night and tomorrow is Friday.  So that's nice.  The PD day on Friday might not be so nice, but who knows?  Maybe it will be productive and beneficial and completely change my life and my outlook on teaching.  Maybe.

I am afraid having someone clean for me would be work for me. I would have clean before anyone else came to clean.

Girl, I feel your pain! I'm right there with you! I feel guilty for having someone else clean my "one person mess!" I say we should treat ourselves every now and again!

PD being beneficial? That's funny!
Don't feel bad- I have made the guest bed my extra closet...er giant heap of clothes. Whatever. And clearly I will have to wash it all over again because it's all wrinkly.

Ha! I seriously could have written this post. I live in a 1 bedroom loft w/ no pets or kids, and I'm able to create a mess worse than 20 first graders. I do the same: work, babysit, tutor...the list goes on and on. Who has time to clean? I'm right there with ya about getting a cleaning lady.

LOVE YOUR BLOG!!! I'm your newest follower.

Of course you can get a cleaning lady! My college roomie (also a teacher) has a cleaning lady that cleans EVERYTHING (blinds, baseboards, light fixtures, she washes sheets, does the laundry, irons). I'm so jealous! I keep hoping her cleaning lady will head north a couple states and show up on my doorstep. Treat yourself girl!

I feel exactly the same way. It's just me and my pups and I can't even stay on top of the cleaning! I am out of the house by 7:30 and most times don't sit down until it's time for bed! I have no idea how my coworkers do it while having a husband and kids to deal with! You are not alone. I give you full permission to get a cleaning lady! I wish I could afford it! =)

You NEED a cleaning lady with all that you already do. I say if you can afford one (and it sounds like you definitely can with all the work you are doing), get that off your plate and into the garbage! ;) Look at it like this...someone needs the extra cash, loves to organize and clean, and you will be a blessing to him/her! Go for it!!

Well, let.me.tell you. I didn't have a cleaning lady until November. My mom got me 1 cleaning lady visit for my birthday. There is NOTHING like coming home to a clean house. I LOVE her! She had a baby at Christmas and my first cleaning session since then is next Monday. I have missed her so. I have NO idea how I did without her! So, yes...you can have a cleaning lady!

GET A CLEANING LADY!!!!!!! You deserve one with as much work as you have!!!!!!! And I bet it wouldn't cost that much since it's two bedrooms and a bath. DO IT!!! :) I used to have one (just married, no kids) but then we got a paycut so I had to let her go. I think I cried for a month. Now I cry and sit in dust.

Hi Caitlin:
If having a cleaning lady makes it easier for you to do everything on that lengthy list, and it allows you to have one less thing to worry about in the process... you deserve it!
Besides, removing eleventy million Sonic cups sounds like at least a two person job...

A few years ago I had a cleaning lady for my single self in my 2 bedroom 2 bath condo. It was heaven. I was super busy with school and church and it helped a lady out at church. She was out of work. But then she got a job (which was great for her) and I no longer have a cleaning lady. It was so nice to come home to a clean house. So I think go for it! I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to be able to convince my fiance we need one but luckily he helps me clean.

Yes you can have a cleaning lady, if you can convince your father that we can have one too!!

Love,
Mom!

Oh girl, I'm in the same boat!! Embarrassing to admit it, but I could use someone around here! Maybe if I hired a cleaning lady it would motivate me to do more around here!

I say "heck ya!" It sounds like your plate is FULL...hmmmm...think about it this way-if you were giving advice to a friend in the same position as yourself, what would you tell her/him?

Go.for.it! Besides, it'll give you stress-free time to enjoy your little nephews & nieces :)
